Beating the RNG by Counting Spins

13 August 2007

By John Robison

Just wondering if anyone else uses my strategy and it seems to work very well. RNG generates a number on the virtual reel for each of 5 columns. It tells the machine where to stop. Yes that is simple, most 2nd graders understand this.

On the new video slots each row might have 200 symbols. YET THE RNG Generates numbers 1-32 still. Meaning you Must atleast spin 7 times to get back to symbol 200. So play less credits for the next 6 spins after you see the symbol you want. Each machine varies on the intervals.

If the Rng generates numbers 1-32 and you could literally count out the number of minimum spins it will take you to get back to your bonus game symbol. It may take you much longer if you Rng all low numbers, but you can still cut out alot of spending. Making the payback much higher percentage.

I've noticed on alot of machines if i see a wild on the column 1 , IT WILL NOT BE SEEN AGAIN FOR ATLEAST 3-10spins. Nomatter what. This is how i started and it has been working so far.

Am i crazy in my logic? I have no schooling i just think there is a way to get the bonus rounds to pay more. because i bet more after so many spins. Only works after you see the symbol in the column you want. Some newer machines may have rng of 1-100 and 3000 symbols on each column.

Any thoughts ?) Thanks alot and yes i've been winning Alot more.

There is one small problem with your theory. If a reel has 200 symbols, the RNG will generate numbers from 1 to 200 for that reel. The RNG does not "generate numbers 1-32 still."

Regulations require that any combination listed on the paytable be possible on every spin. Thus, any symbol on every reel can land on the payline on any spin. Under your theory, only some symbols could be chosen, which means not every outcome would be possible and that would be illegal.

I'm glad you've been winning a lot more. I think the reason you've been winning more is because you've been betting less on some spins, which lets you get more spins from your bankroll, which gives you more chances of hitting something.

The reason you see a number of spins in between seeing certain symbols is because of the probability of landing those symbols (i.e., the number of times they appear on the virtual reel).

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
