Can Slot Players Alter Results?

7 November 2009

By John Robison

Is there anything a slot player can do that will alter his/her outcome once it has been determined by the random number generator ??

The likelyhood being, " a non payment result, as a rule." ?

Is there any way to alter that ( usual and consistant ) result, and TURN THAT SPIN into a win ?

Robert

Dear Robert,

There's nothing players can do, legally, to alter the outcome.

If they could figure out a way to move the reels or change the images on the screen to a winning combination, that wouldn't turn a loser into a winner because the result from the RNG is what matters, not what appears on the payline or the screen.

So, they'd have to figure out some way to make it look like the RNG chose a winner. For security, the program running the slot stores the result in multiple memory locations and compares the values to ensure there's no tampering or programming errors. The player would have to change the values in all those locations -- plus, they'd have to know what values to use for a winning combination.

I don't think there's any way for players to alter the result of a spin, and I know for sure there's no way for them to do it legally.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
