Comments about slots on cruise ships

16 February 2007

Here are some of the comments I've received about slots on cruise ships:

The slots on a cruise ship have paid me and my friends the same as or better than those in land-based casinos. One fun thing is a slot tournament, where a $20 entry fee can return a $500 first prize. I've seen some big winners on a boat. In general I trust the Carnival casinos more than I trust the Indian casinos in Florida, or the day "Cruise to Nowhere" ships. For the record, the Carnival ships have bigger casinos than the other cruise lines.

Hi, John,

Regarding George's question on gaming on cruise ships:

I am a slot and video poker player. In the last two years I've been on two cruises. We spent a LOT of time in the casino.

On one cruise I hit a $1,000 jackpot on a 10x pay 2-quarter slot machine and a $250 jackpot on a quarter Deuces Wild video poker machine. This was in addition to lots of little jackpots on quarter and nickel machines. Came back from an eight-night cruise with well over a thousand dollars more than when I left home!

On the second cruise I hit a $500 jackpot on a quarter triple double video poker machine. Came home with about $250 more than when I left home. My sister hit a $500 jackpot on a dollar Wheel of Fortune machine, and we (four of us) all hit smaller jackpots all week long.

So the answer is YES, you can win on a cruise ship . . . you just have to be at the right machine when the RNG gods are in a good mood! Oh, and don't be disappointed if you do not win . . . the purpose of cruising is to have a fun, relaxing time!

Michelle

I have no doubt that people have won playing the slots on a cruise ship. After all, even the tightest machine in the world pays its jackpot sometimes.

Michelle provides good for all gambling activities. Have a fun, relaxing time whether your casino is on land, in a riverboat, or on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
