The Slot Expert's Guide to Winning at Slots and Video Poker18 September 2000
You can hear me give my slot and video poker tips live on The Good Times Show, hosted by Rudi Schiffer with Frank Scoblete, which is broadcast live from Memphis on WHBQ over the air on 560AM and over the Internet on Yahoo! Broadcast on Saturday morning from 8-10 CT.
Many people like to play full coin on the slots. Even though it's true that you sometimes get a higher payback when you play full coin on a machine, the extra payback is rarely enough to overcome the additional risk. (Long-time readers will recall a series of tips I gave late last year and early this year about when it is worthwhile to play full coin. You can retrieve these tips using the search page.)
I have to admit, though, that it's much easier to hit the Bet Max button than to play one coin at a time by hitting the Bet One button and then the Spin button or dropping a coin in the machine and pulling the handle. So, here's a bankroll-stretching tip for full-coin players.
If you want to play full coin, do it on a 2-coin machine. If you normally play a 3-coin machine, you'll get half again as many spins from your bankroll alone. More spins means more playing time and more chances at the big jackpot.
This week's tip: If you play full coin, you can stretch your bankroll by playing full coin on a 2-coin machine, instead of a 3-coin or higher machine.
