Will Winning Affect My Comps?

How does one get airfare from a casino? My friend says that his uncle gets airfare from the place he gambles at. What are the guidelines for it?

You have to play a lot at relatively high stakes to qualify for airfare. Each casino has its own comp guidelines. The people I know who have gotten their airfare comped played at least six hours of blackjack a day with an average bet around $100 a hand.

We travel to Biloxi for most of our gambling. I usually play $2000 over three nights and my comps are good. Question: On my last trip, I played some Blazing Red Sevens, which I never played in the past, and I won about $5k total. Is this going to affect my future comps?

Dear Bobby,

Your win (Congratulations!) should have no effect on your comps. The casino knows you have to win sometime or you wouldn't come back, so comps are based on your theoretical loss, not your actual results.
