Which Video Poker Machines Are the Best?

7 July 2008

By John Robison

I would like to know what video poker machines are better to play. For example, some have wild cards, others pay only for 3-of-a-kind or better, etc.

Lois

Dear Lois,

Asking this question is like asking which type of music is better. All types have some things in common, but different types appear to different people.

Some people like the mild bankroll swings of Jacks or Better. Others find Jacks or Better boring and prefer the roller coaster ride of Double Bonus, or one of the other bonus games. Pick the type of paytable that best suits your gambling personality.

Regardless of which type of video poker game you play, play the highest-paying paytable you can find and learn the proper strategy for that paytable.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
